What our customers say about us!
The Vineyard Cafe and Dinner Theater is a special place for a tasty lunch on the popular Marietta Square. Owners Betty and Penny welcome their guests and serve up a variety of culinary treats. We enjoy taking visiting family and friends to the Vineyard and look forward to attending our first dinner-theater production there in the very near future.
My husband, daughter and I ate lunch
at your cafe yesterday (daughter works down the road and recommended your place
to us) and I just had to take the time to write a thank you note.
From the moment we stepped into your
place, we were treated as friends. The woman who had the most impact on us was
the one who gave my husband a sample of the corn chowder as we were waiting for
a table. Lovely, friendly lady who apparently enjoys treating neighbors to
cookies in the middle of the night. I would love to have such a neighbor! So thanks to her and the lady who
served us - we all walked out with not only a satisfying filled stomach, but a
filled heart. It was one of the most enjoyable lunches I've had. As soon as
we're able (we live in Atlanta), we'll be back for some more of that corn
chowder and savory sandwiches.
Hugs and best wishes for your
health, your establishment and 2019!
A really cozy
establishment with great food and pleasant service. They have a beautiful view
of the park you can enjoy from the second floor. The live music was incredible
and provided an experience I will not soon forget. I will definitely be back!!!
Every time I’m come here I always
make it a priority to say hello to the beautiful ladies in the kitchen . These
ladies make miracles in the kitchen which me and my family can always enjoy .
The hospitality is off the charts . And they always accommodate the customer
and that’s just a little bit of what is going on here . The food is the out of
this world . Best darn sandwiches . You
need to come here because you are missing out . Don’t forget kids eat free on Fridays
and take home some soup . Just had the corn chowder . Out of this world . I
will always come back here .
Great food and the staff were great!
Most enjoyable lunch overlooking the square.
The Vineyard is definitely one of the places we choose to take guest! The food is awesome and the variety is refreshing. We have not been to the dinner theater, but I am sure it is of the same quality and most enjoyable-after all it is The Vineyard!
My husband, daughter (age 2) and I had the best lunch here!
My husband was so impressed with the grilled cheese that we had ordered that he went to the chef to tell her
personally how delicious it was! We live in Smyrna and will be making the drive
to eat here weekly it was that good! Check this place out you will be so HAPPY that you did!
Love going here with my daughter for tea and a
great soup and sandwich! We sit and have lunch while we catch up on life. One
of my favorite places on the square!!
love coming to this hidden gem for lunch on Sundays mainly because they are not
open for breakfast or dinner and they are closed on Tuesdays. The food is made
fresh and always delicious. Their sandwiches are unique and range from a
grilled Reuben and Panini's to Croissants and Grilled Cheese.
They have a few appetizers of which the Bett's
Bites is my favorite. It's Pimento cheese melted on pumpernickel topped with
crumbled bacon (baked to order so please allow extra time!).
They also have salads and a kids menu and over
30 hot teas and their house blend peach tea is a refreshing change.
Their prices are very reasonable and you can
usually find a coupon on Restaurant.com for $10 off a purchase of $30 or more
(dine in only).
The best part is we have never had to wait to be
seated which is rather odd considering how good the food is and also if you can
get a table at the bay window you can enjoy the view of the beautiful Marietta
I was never really inclined to go here it just being a small cafe, but I was pleasantly surprised. They mostly do sandwiches, but they were all unique and healthy. I ordered their grilled cheese sandwich which had 3 different cheeses, bacon, and tomato. I also got a side of sweet potato salad, which was essentially a lighter potato salad. It had less mayo, more texture, and it wasn't overpowering. They also have a nice hot tea selection. I would definitely pick this restaurant over others in Marietta square.
Restaurant is open for lunch hours, private parties, catering (hot food or box lunches). No handicap access due to historic building. Located upstairs. Window dining tables have best view of Marietta Square. Food is delicious...quiche, soups, salads, sandwiches, appetizers, dessert. Gluten free options available. They have some great variations on all their dishes. Owners are friendly and accommodating. Service is good. Prices moderate. Beer and wine available. They also have extensive selection of teas. On the menu you can also choose a full tea (finger sandwiches and desserts) or just dessert tea. Try the coconut bread pudding if you have room for dessert...it's the best! A separate function at this quaint venue is the dinner theater. Only $42.00 plus tax for buffet style meal, beverage (charge for wine/beer) and a show. A talented group of local actors perform up close and personal. Dramas, comedies and classics have been on the schedule. Each show is adapted to this small setting and there is not a bad seat in the house. Actors are available after the show to interact with audience members. Very entertaining evening out.
The food here is amazing and the staff is super friendly and inviting. Their chicken salad croissant sandwich is one of the best around! If you're on the square it's a must try!
Sandwich was very good and the sweet potato salad was awesome. Highly recommend this quaint place. They also serve beer and wine, which is a nice touch. You can sit by the upstairs window and get a great view of the Marietta Square. Quiet place for good conversation.
My wife and I had a great lunch, she had a
wonderful fresh salad and I chose the Italian sandwich. We’ve also had their
soups over the years. Really quaint place for a good lunch.
We asked for a window seat. They said,
sorry none available. They were getting ready for a large group. Then we said,
it was our first time there. They opened up the room they were preparing. They
seated us in the best seats, by the window that overlooked the square. We both
ordered the chicken salad sandwich and different sides. Had I known how good it
was, I would have ordered 2. My tongue slapped my lips so hard, I think I
knocked a tooth loose. LOL. They make their chicken salad fresh served on warm
croissants. When I learned they sell it by the pound I was hoping to take some
home. Unfortunately for me, because of the demand that day, there was none available for sale but
they recommended I call 2 days in advance. Can you tell I really like this place. Guys if you want
or need to make a deposit in your Wife Bank, this is it
Great atmosphere, superb tea selection. Good music.
Gluten free options that taste good! Good view of the square. Reasonable prices. This place is incredible for lunch! The people are
However, if you haven't checked out one of their dinners and a play, you're
really missing out on a treat!!!! The actors are professionals and the food is
delish as always!!!!
Had the Chicken Salad sandwich on a croissant and Greek
Pasta Salad with an icy cold peach tea
at The Vineyard
Cafe today! Extremely good!
Went with my daughter for lunch Sunday. Our male server
was the bomb! He made us feel like we were family. My daughter, going thru a
tough time, had a meltdown during our conversation. He saw that she was quietly
crying and brought her a free dessert. Our food was wonderful (chicken salad)
and the peach tea divine. Bread pudding for dessert was perfect. Love this
place and it will continue to be one of my favs.
come here almost every weekend to have the delicious chicken salad. The staff
is fantastic and always make us feel welcome. Cannot stop talking about how
good everything is, but definitely try the cafe croissant, sweet peach tea, and bread pudding!
This was so good! I just had lunch with the full tea and
it was absolutely delicious! My only complaint: I got full and still had a
scone and cookie I hadn't sampled! Travesty because I just know they would have
been fantastic! I will be back for more for sure!!!
It was amazing. The staff was so friendly. I took my
family from Montana for a true Southern Hospitality experience. I was impressed
with the level of service and quality of food.
My sister and I were looking for a quaint spot to get
some lunch and just happened to find this place. Best decision we could have
made. Great atmosphere, wonderful service and the food was delicious!!! And you
must try their signature Peach Iced Tea, it was divine!
The eggplant panini was fantastic! I had it with the
Tomato Basil soup of the day. I never
eat dessert, but we had the sampler and loved it!
Love this place. Inviting atmosphere and tasty soups, salads and sandwiches. They were one of the first places in the area to offer gluten free sandwich bread. Nice iced teas as well.
Our Dinner Theatre:
My husband and I love
coming here for their Dinner Theater! This Cafe is absolutely adorable. We
really enjoy the quaint atmosphere. The Buffet Dinner is ‘good home cooked
food’ and always delicious. The service and staff are excellent. After dinner,
we are seated for entertainment. The actors for their Plays have been ‘spot on’
for the characters they play.
This truly is a great night out, very reasonably priced, and
it’s so close to
home — Marietta Square.
For the 2 season we have attended here at Vineyard Café, we again salute the owners ! GREAT shows, GREAT acting, GREAT food, GREAT drinks (thanks to the season tic package which gives you a free drink with your tic !) Many laughs, a few tears shed (steel magnolias) but ALWAYS a good time. Now, when we have friends over or from out of town our ‘goto’ place to impress them is on Marietta square and called The ‘vineyard café’…
Keep up the good work, the shows entertaining, the recipes coming and keep those Mimosas flowing…
The restaurant's atmosphere is something of a throwback to pre-WW II Marietta - unpretentious and a bit rustic. The food selection at the dinner theater event we attended was a parmesan crusted chicken and pasta primavera, both gluten-free. They were quite good, as were the cooked veggies, salad and dessert. But, as Shakespeare was quoted, "The play's the thing." And the one we saw, "Two Across", was excellent. The actors both put in fine performances, and, judging from how well the production went overall, the director deserves a lot of credit, too. So, if you're looking for something "authentic " that you probably won't find anywhere else, the dinner theater at The Vineyard is well worth a try. (You might want to bring a seat cushion, though, as the seats in the theater aren't padded.)
You will be met at the top of the stairs with a warm friendly greeting. This restaurant has several seating areas with an assortment of tables for two, four or larger groups. Dinner before their plays is a buffet with chicken and vegetarian selections. Following dessert there is an easy transition to the theater area. The stage is small, but the set designers do a great job of setting the tone for each production.
It was great! We went for “A Greater Tuna” as my wife and her family love “A Tuna Christmas” which will be here at Christmas this year! Two actors playing several characters each with costume and voice changes to match. The dinner prior was classic southern comfort food served buffet style. Choice of a salad, two sides, two entrees, and two desserts. We’ll definitely be back! Keep art alive!
Had a great dinner, bonus-gluten free, and laughed the rest of the night during Greater Tuna. What a talented cast. I have gone to plays at twice the cost, which didn't include dinner, and had a quarter of the fun. Can't wait to go again.
We went to the dinner
theater to see “A Greater Tuna”. The play was very funny and entertaining and
the acting was amazing – 2 actors playing around 20 parts. We enjoyed the meal
which I would describe as comfort food with some creativity added in. I am
careful with my diet and was able to choose items that worked for me. It’s a
small buffet but 2 choices of entrees plus a salad and several sides and
dessert with gluten free options as well. The owners are there cooking and
serving and have done a lot to make the whole experience special. This small
dinner theater setting makes for a very enjoyable evening. We have been to the
dinner theater a number of times before and also frequently for lunch and
highly recommend both.
I wish I could give more than five stars for the
unbelievable evening I just shared with my family! We came for the dinner theater to see Driving
Miss Daisy. From the beginning we were all blown away - great customer service,
AMAZING food + to top it off, an extremely realistic and entertaining rendition
of Driving Miss Daisy. I'd highly suggest coming here for an intimate evening
with your significant other, friends or family. We'll for sure be back to see
Four friends and I went to the dinner theater here last
night and had a WONDERFUL time! We enjoyed a great buffet dinner. The food was
delicious. Then we were treated to a play of Steel Magnolias. The play was
fantastic and the performers were so talented and pulled me into the story
immediately. Even though I have seen the movie of Steel Magnolias numerous
times this was still such a refreshing version as the actors made each
character their own. I was so thoroughly entertained! The owners were very
welcoming and made sure that everyone had a good time. I will most definitely
be going again!
We had a BLAST!! We’ve been talking about it all
morning!! Can’t wait to see what the next show is!
We had the pleasure of being invited to The Vineyard Cafe
on 8/22 to enjoy wonderful food and photograph a brilliant production of Robert
Harling's "Steel Magnolias"
directed by Tony Smithey. The Vineyard Cafe, located above Tiny Bubbles Tea Bar and Gift Shop in historic
Marietta Square, is reviving dinner theater!! The next show is "The Bird
a treasure trove of favorite things - sweet people oozing southern hospitality
, scrumptious food and plenty of it, historic building on the Square in
Marietta, and brilliantly talented actors evoking laughter through tears!
My boyfriend and I attended Opening Night and were
delighted with the production and acting. This was a wonderful evening with
dinner and the play. We had such a great time. We found the actors to be
accomplished and very approachable afterwards taking pictures with the audience
members. Highly recommended!!!
Our Event Space:
Just a quick note to
say a huge “Thank You” to you and your
entire team. Thanks so much for everything. All were certainly impressed with
the layout/set-up and the delicious food. Thanks again!
We can't thank you enough for your incredible food and service for our
family's bridal tea this past Saturday. The food was certainly delicious, and
our waitress was the sweetest thing ever , but we especially appreciated
the calm take-your-time attitude throughout the entire event. Every guest
felt it, and during a high stress wedding weekend, your calm and kindness
was welcomed by us all.
Awesome food and server. We reserved the private room for a shower. It has a awesome view of Marietta Square. Our server was fantastic and the decor was nice.
I just wanted to say our Tea Bridal Shower was a great success!! You guys really did a wonderful job!! I cannot rave enough on how special you made this for the bride to be, me and all the other ladies that attended. Everything was wonderful and the food was amazing. I and all the other ladies highly recommend The Vineyard café for any special event. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you did!
I could not be more happy with our venue. My husband and I fell in love with the Vineyard Cafe a year before our actual wedding, down to the very day. The cafe has the most beautiful view of the Marietta Square, the best food, and the sweetest waitstaff. I really mean it when I say, everything about the Vineyard Cafe is charming. When we first discovered the cafe, my husband and I had already booked a wedding venue, so it never occurred to us at the time that we might have our wedding at the cafe. It wasn't until we were a couple months away from our wedding date and our previous venue and catering (Coast 2 Coast who was suggested by our venue The Fainting Goat Vineyard) started fighting. That story is for a different review, but needless to say, we were left without a venue or catering four months out from our date. Thankfully my husband and I knew a place that we both loved, and so we used The Vineyard Cafe, and I could not be more happy about it. The wedding was beautiful and intimate, and I could relax and know that the lovely people at The Vineyard Cafe had me covered.
We had the pleasure of hosting a bridal shower at The
Vineyard Cafe this weekend. I would give a rating of 10 stars if I could! Betty
and all the ladies were a dream to work with and bent over backwards to make
our day super special. I had to plan this event long distance so I was nervous
about the details. Betty answered every question and took care of every detail.
I had cupcakes delivered from Mamie’s and set the room up in a Lilly theme.
Every aspect of the planning and executing went perfectly. Everyone raved about
the food! The private party room was set up beautifully. This is now my go to
place in Atlanta for all my special events. What a treasure The Vineyard Cafe
My daughter hosted a bridal shower there. It
was great food, great service, and a beautiful room for an event. I highly
recommend it. I plan to visit again soon.
